President Xi meets Belarusian President in Beijing as both leaders exchanged views on strong bilateral relations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping held a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Wednesday. Xi congratulated Lukashenko once again on his reelection and described the relationship between the two nations as one of genuine friendship and mutual trust.
Xi emphasized the deep-rooted traditional friendship, strong political trust, and expanding cooperation between China and Belarus across various sectors. He highlighted that China approaches its relationship with Belarus strategically and with a long-term vision.
He expressed China’s readiness to work together with Belarus to ensure stable bilateral ties and promote mutually beneficial cooperation.
President Xi also encouraged deeper coordination between the two countries in international organizations such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, calling for joint efforts to resist hegemony and bullying and uphold global fairness and justice.
President Lukashenko, now on his 15th visit to China, said he has consistently experienced sincere friendship from China throughout his visits.
He expressed gratitude for China’s continued and strong support for Belarus, stating that Belarus holds deep trust in China and is committed to strengthening their bilateral collaboration.
Lukashenko also praised China for its leadership in promoting multilateralism and resisting unilateralism, sanctions, and coercion, saying Belarus admires China and is eager to join hands in defending international justice and fairness.
