Beijing, May 21 – Pakistan, China, Afghanistan FMs hold trilateral meeting where they reaffirmed commitment to enhancing trilateral cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi held an informal trilateral meeting in Beijing today.
The three sides reaffirmed their commitment to trilateral cooperation as a key platform for advancing regional security and economic connectivity. Discussions focused on enhancing diplomatic engagement, improving communication, and promoting trade, infrastructure, and development for shared prosperity.
They agreed to deepen collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into Afghanistan.
The ministers also emphasized joint efforts to combat terrorism and foster regional stability. It was agreed that the 6th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be convened in Kabul at an early mutually convenient date.
