Pathankot and Udhampur airbases attacked during Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos by launching a series of missiles.
In a sharp escalation of hostilities, Pakistan has intensified Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos by launching a series of missile strikes on key Indian Air Force installations. According to military sources in Islamabad, six major airbases- Gujarat, Adampur, Ambala, Udhampur, Pathankot, and Jalandhar – were successfully targeted. The strikes on Pathankot and Udhampur are viewed as particularly significant due to their strategic roles, with Pathankot serving as a forward airbase near the border and Udhampur functioning as a critical logistical hub for Indian forces in Jammu.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence stated the missile strikes were a response to ongoing Indian provocations and intended to undermine India’s offensive capacity. These were characterized as precision operations carried out under the broader umbrella of Operation Bunyan ul Marsoos, focused on neutralizing threats to Pakistan’s national security.
Although the Indian government has not confirmed the full extent of the damage, reports from local sources suggest large-scale explosions, infrastructure damage, and disruptions in airbase operations. Civilian air traffic across northern India has also been rerouted or suspended. The international community has expressed grave concern and called for restraint, warning that the heightened tension between the two nuclear-armed countries risks triggering a wider regional conflict.
