He shared these remarks during an informal tea discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.
Xi asserted that with firm strategic coordination, China and Russia can continue progressing and strengthening their enduring friendship, while contributing to the unstoppable movement toward a multipolar world and global economic integration.
He further expressed his willingness to remain in close contact with President Putin to help shape the trajectory of China-Russia relations and contribute to improving global governance.
President Putin, in response, highlighted the consistent solidarity between Russia and China, noting their mutual support and the formation of a robust and enduring partnership.
He reaffirmed his commitment to deepening strategic communication with Xi, guiding the development of bilateral ties, facing global challenges together, enhancing strategic coordination, protecting mutual interests, and advancing a more just, democratic, and multipolar international order.
During their discussions, both leaders exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict and broader global concerns. Xi reiterated China’s stance on global security, which emphasizes inclusiveness, cooperation, and sustainability, and stressed the importance of addressing all nations’ legitimate security concerns to resolve the Ukraine issue at its root.
Xi said China welcomes any genuine efforts toward peace and hopes for a fair, durable, and universally acceptable peace agreement through dialogue.
Putin praised China’s balanced and fair approach to resolving the Ukraine conflict and stated Russia’s readiness to engage in peace negotiations without preconditions, aiming for a just and lasting resolution.
