China’s scholarship empowers Balochistan’s youth, governor Mandokhail stated while stressed its importance in reducing educational loopholes.
Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail praised the “Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship” as a significant initiative to empower the province’s youth through modern education. Describing it as a milestone in expanding academic opportunities, he stressed its importance in reducing educational disparities. He made these remarks while distributing scholarship checks to the vice-chancellors of public sector universities on Friday.
During the ceremony, which highlighted educational collaboration, Governor Mandokhail underscored the significance of the scholarship program, stating that it provides a vital platform for students. He emphasized that the initiative would equip the younger generation with advanced education, preparing them to become future leaders and catalysts for change.
The governor expressed sincere appreciation for the Chinese government and Ambassador’s support in offering scholarships to Balochistan’s students. He expressed hope that the enduring Pakistan-China friendship would further enhance educational cooperation.
The event saw the participation of vice-chancellors from the University of Balochistan, Gwadar University, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, and Mir Chakar Khan Rind University. Senior officials, including the Governor’s Principal Secretary, Hashim Khan Ghilzai, and Chairman of Friends of China, Bayazed Khan Kasi, were also present.
Governor Mandokhail, who had previously led a delegation advocating for scholarships for Balochistani students, acknowledged that China responded positively, leading to the creation of this dedicated scholarship program.
Deserving and diligent students from three public sector universities – University of Balochistan, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, and Gwadar University – received scholarships. The governor highlighted that while Balochistan’s youth have great potential, they often face challenges due to a lack of resources and opportunities.
He further noted that the scholarship program exemplifies the strong partnership between China and Pakistan in advancing education and development.
In a video message, the Chinese Ambassador reiterated China’s commitment to Pakistan’s progress and commended the governor’s efforts in securing educational opportunities for students in Balochistan.
Governor Mandokhail expressed optimism that the scholarship program would expand in the future, allowing more students to benefit from China’s educational initiatives.
