Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi meet Arab countries’ diplomatic envoys in Beijing on Thursday to deepen cooperation through dialogue.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized that China prioritizes its relations with Arab countries, noting that China-Arab ties have reached their strongest period under the leadership of both sides.
He reiterated China’s readiness to work with Arab nations to sustain the positive momentum of their comprehensive cooperation, advance modernization efforts, and jointly build a high-level community with a shared future.
Wang stated that the Middle East belongs to its people and urged the international community to respect the region’s legitimate concerns, independent choices, and historical and cultural traditions. He called for support to foster harmony and achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.
Addressing the Palestinian issue, Wang called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of troops in Gaza, and a lasting solution based on the two-state framework. He also emphasized preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and urged all parties in Syria to pursue an inclusive political settlement for long-term peace.
Wang affirmed China’s continued support for Arab countries in strengthening their strategic independence, achieving unity, and promoting self-reliance, with efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the Middle East.
The Arab diplomatic envoys expressed firm support for the one-China principle and praised China’s consistent assistance and support for Arab nations.
They commended the success of the first Arab-China Summit, which elevated bilateral ties, and expressed their willingness to collaborate with China in preparing for the second summit, aiming for greater achievements in China-Arab cooperation.
The envoys expressed gratefulness to China for its balanced stance on the Palestinian issue and its efforts toward promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. They expressed hope for China to play an even greater role in easing tensions in the region.
