China and Nepal cooperation strengthens as the Chinese Foreign Minister met with Nepal’s counterpart.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba in Chengdu, located in southwestern China, on Friday.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the collaborative efforts between China and Nepal to strengthen cooperation across various sectors. He noted progress achieved under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and advancements in constructing the trans-Himalayan multi-dimensional connectivity network.
Wang expressed China’s readiness to work alongside Nepal to foster new opportunities for bilateral relations, particularly as the two nations prepare to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.
Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba reiterated Nepal’s unwavering commitment to the one-China policy, emphasizing that Nepal will not permit its territory to be used by any forces for activities against China or its interests.
Deuba also acknowledged the significance of China’s vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity and expressed Nepal’s willingness to actively engage in the Global Development Initiative.
