Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway enters trial phase aimed to to enhance the high speed rail network.
A test train of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou high-speed railway passed over Yuandang Lake in Wujiang district, Suzhou, in Jiangsu Province on November 23.
This event marks the railway’s shift into its trial operation phase, with the official launch expected by the end of December.
The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou high-speed railway is a significant infrastructure initiative connecting Shanghai, Suzhou in Jiangsu, and Huzhou in Zhejiang. Its primary goal is to enhance the high-speed rail network within the Yangtze River Delta region.
Once operational, the railway will improve the structure of Shanghai’s rail hub, alleviate congestion on the Shanghai-Nanjing and Shanghai-Hangzhou corridors, and provide more convenient travel options for residents along the route.
This project will be crucial in developing a “rail-connected Yangtze River Delta,” fostering economic and social growth in the region, and promoting high-quality regional integration.
