Pakistan-Ban Mo Academy inaugurated at Gwadar Port with detailed plans to implement training models.
The Pakistan-Ban Mo Academy, a collaborative venture to promote vocational education, was officially inaugurated with concurrent ceremonies at Gwadar Port in Pakistan and Jinan in China.
The launch underscored a milestone in China-Pakistan cooperation, with representatives from the Pakistan-China Vocational and Technical College, Gwadar Port Authority, and China Overseas Ports Holding (Pakistan) signing a memorandum of cooperation to establish the academy.
Zhang Zhidong of Shandong Business Vocational College detailed plans to implement innovative training models under the Vocational Education Going Global 2.0 initiative, aiming to position the academy as a global benchmark for vocational education.
Furthermore, Ahmed Manzoor, principal of the Gwadar vocational college, highlighted the academy’s efforts to bridge local skills gaps. He also shared that over 60 graduates had secured jobs in various sectors and announced new degree programs in e-commerce, software technology, and port management.
Moreover, Yu Bo, Chairman of China Overseas Ports Holding (Pakistan), reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting the academy and emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between educational institutions and businesses to drive regional economic growth and reinforce China-Pakistan relations.
Pasand Khan Buledi, Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority, noted that 60% of local youth require vocational training. He pledged full support for the academy and expressed appreciation for China’s continuous contributions to Gwadar’s development, according to a report.
