Dera police arrest leader of 12-member gang involved in robberies on CPEC during an operation conducted on Friday.
The district police successfully traced over a dozen theft cases and dismantled a 12-member gang involved in multiple robberies along the Hakla-DI Khan Motorway (CPEC) route. During this operation, conducted on Friday, officers recovered stolen items from the suspects. According to a police spokesperson, the action was initiated under the guidance of Regional Police Officer Dera Nasir Mehmood and District Police Officer Nasir Mehmood, with SP Paharpur Gohar Ali Khan overseeing the operation. A specialized team, led by SDPO Paharpur Naqibullah Khan and including SHO Yarik Police Station Faheem Mumtaz and SHO Shaheed Nawab Khan Police Station Habib Ullah Khan, carried out the successful operation using advanced scientific and technical methods, arresting the gang’s leader and his associates.
The apprehended suspects, identified as Nasrullah, son of Eid Muhammad from Badnikhel, and his accomplice Gulzaman, son of Ghulmay from Mithikhel Badnikhel, were found in possession of two mobile phones, a Kalashnikov, a 9mm pistol, a 12-bore rifle, a 12-bore repeater with 42 cartridges, and Rs. 65,000 in cash. Police have filed cases against those arrested and have begun further investigations.
Additionally, addressing participants, Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin expressed solidarity with Kashmir, highlighting the oppressive actions taken by the Indian government in occupied Kashmir over decades, which have deeply impacted the region’s population and denied basic human rights. He also emphasized that Kashmir is integral to Pakistan, and the nation stands firmly with the Kashmiris in their pursuit of freedom. “We urge the world to recognize these injustices and take action to restore the rights of the oppressed Kashmiri people,” he stated, calling it a broader matter of humanity’s respect and dignity.
Moreover, pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Ghulam Yasin also commended the youth’s dedication in voicing support for Kashmir, seeing it as a reflection of Pakistan’s steadfast commitment. “On the Kashmir issue, we will never waver,” he concluded.
