Chinese vice premier meets U.S. delegation of China-U.S. economic working group in Beijing emphasizing the need to implement key agreements.
Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, who leads China-U.S. economic and trade matters, met with a U.S. delegation led by Jay Shambaugh, Under Secretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, in Beijing on Friday.
He emphasized the need for China and the U.S. to implement the key agreements reached by their presidents during their San Francisco meeting and a phone call in April. He stressed the importance of maintaining economic dialogue, enhancing coordination on macroeconomic policies, addressing each other’s concerns with equality and mutual respect, and promoting stable and healthy China-U.S. economic relations.
Shambaugh, attending the fifth meeting of the China-U.S. economic working group, expressed the U.S.’s willingness to continue economic dialogue with China and foster positive economic relations.
