In his message, Li emphasized that nuclear energy is a crucial source of clean energy, and China has proposed building a global nuclear security framework based on fairness and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Li highlighted that since China joined the IAEA 40 years ago, it has actively supported the agency’s work through concrete actions. He noted that China and the IAEA have developed comprehensive cooperation in areas such as nuclear energy development, safety, security, safeguards, and non-proliferation, yielding significant results and contributing to global nuclear governance.
Li further expressed China’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the IAEA and other member states to make nuclear energy governance more equitable and rational, foster inclusive nuclear energy development, and promote open and orderly nuclear energy cooperation.
