Rawalpindi, 19 July 2024 – CJCSC Pakistan Appreciates PLA’S (People’s Liberation Army) role as a significant driver towards regional peace and stability.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, attended the commemoration ceremony of the 97th founding day of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China as the Chief Guest.
This event was the second grand celebration marking the anniversary in Islamabad on July 19, following the initial celebration at Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, hosted by Chief of Army Staff Pakistan, General Asim Munir.
Chairman JCSC, General Mirza extended congratulations to the people, civilian and military leadership, and all ranks of the PLA. He further lauded PLA’s role in China’s development and its rapid modernization into a key force for regional peace and stability.
In his address, he emphasized the close and enduring “All Weather Friendship” between China and Pakistan, reaffirming commitments to further expand and deepen the bilateral relationship between both states.
As CJCSC Pakistan Appreciates PLA’s role in fostering stability, he also highlighted Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to collaborate closely with China on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), defense cooperation, and regional peace and stability. The ceremony was attended by numerous civilians, military officers, journalists, businessmen, and civil society members.
From the government of Pakistan, a significant number of officials expressed their solidarity with China.
otable attendees included Ministers of Commerce Jam Kamal, Investment Aleem Khan, and Information Ata Ullah Tarar, as well as the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tariq Fatimi.
