In Gwadar, the Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT&VI) has successfully enrolled 366 students from Gwadar and other areas of Balochistan across various programs. The selection process involved around 500 male and female students participating in an entry test, with diverse areas of study offered, including Tourism, English language, Maritime and Port Management, Software Technology, Chinese Language and Culture, Mechatronics, and E-Commerce.
According to PCT&VI officials, classes are set to commence on January 22, following the schedule previously communicated to the admitted students for their respective subjects. The distribution of admissions is as follows: 15 students in Tourism Management, 127 in English Language, 59 in Maritime and Port Management, 100 in Software Technology, 35 in Chinese Language and Culture, 5 in Mechatronics, and 25 in E-Commerce.
All vocational and training programs are developed in collaboration with the Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (SICT), China, and other accredited institutions. The Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT&VI) aims to enhance the skills of the local population to contribute to the growth of the Port City. Notably, the institute, completed at a cost of $10 million, was constructed in just 20 months under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Gwadar.
