Youm-e-Tashakur is being observed in Pakistan today to honor the Armed Forces and the nation for their victory in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq.
The day began with special prayers in mosques and the recitation of the Holy Quran.
A 31-gun salute was fired after Fajr prayer in the federal capital, while a 21-gun salute was conducted in provincial capitals to commemorate the occasion.
Change of guard ceremonies are scheduled to take place this morning at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam in Karachi and at the mausoleum of national poet Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore.
Special gatherings will be held with the families of martyrs from Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos to pay homage to their sacrifice.
The main Youm-e-Tashakur ceremony will be held at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will attend as the chief guest, accompanied by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Chief of Army Staff.
