Chinese President Xi Jinping departed from Beijing on Tuesday to attend the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, following an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Accompanying Xi on this trip are Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, along with Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Chinese foreign minister.
