Xi Jinping Visited Macau University of Science and Technology Highlighting China’s Scientific Progress to create world-class research hubs.
President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) on Thursday morning. During the visit, he was briefed on two state-level key laboratories housed within the university: one specializing in the quality of traditional Chinese medicine and the other focused on lunar and planetary science. These laboratories represent China’s strategic focus on advancing scientific research and global competitiveness in cutting-edge technologies.
During the tour, President Xi engaged with teachers, students, and scientific researchers, emphasizing the importance of fostering innovation-driven development. He highlighted China’s commitment to cultivating a skilled workforce equipped with scientific knowledge to drive national progress. He also attended the inauguration ceremony of the sixth-term government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and conducted an inspection tour of the SAR. The two key laboratories at MUST serve as symbols of China’s scientific ambitions.
