Xi Jinping highlights importance of neighborhood diplomacy aiming to build a community with shared future.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the importance of building a community with a shared future alongside neighboring countries, aiming to create new opportunities for China’s diplomatic work in the region.
Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made these remarks at a central conference in Beijing from Tuesday to Wednesday, which focused on neighboring country affairs.
The conference was attended by prominent leaders, including members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, such as Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Vice President Han Zheng.
In his speech, Xi comprehensively reviewed the accomplishments and experiences of China’s neighborhood work in the new era, provided a scientific analysis of the current situation, and outlined the objectives, tasks, strategies, and measures for the next phase of neighborhood diplomacy.
Premier Li Qiang, who chaired the meeting, stressed the importance of implementing Xi’s speech and ensuring that all related tasks in neighborhood affairs are thoroughly carried out.
The conference emphasized that China’s vast territory and extensive borders make its neighborhood relations crucial for the nation’s development, security, diplomacy, and the broader mission of building a community with a shared future for humanity.
The attendees called for adopting a global perspective in addressing regional issues and enhancing the sense of responsibility in advancing China’s neighborhood work.
