Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the Northern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on Friday, ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.
In his role as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), Xi conveyed festive greetings to PLA service members, personnel from the People’s Armed Police Force, civilian staff serving in the military, as well as militia and reserve forces. The greetings were extended on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC.
This year’s Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, is set to be celebrated on January 29.
