Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto exchanged congratulatory messages on Sunday to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia.
In his message, President Xi highlighted the enduring and cooperative relationship between the two nations. He noted that, as maritime neighbors and future-oriented partners, China and Indonesia have consistently supported one another over the past 75 years, achieving significant progress and fostering a strong bond between their people.
Xi reflected on his two meetings with President Prabowo last year, where they pledged mutual support for each country’s development paths. They also agreed to work together toward modernization efforts and jointly promote a China-Indonesia community with shared regional and global influence, aiming to elevate their ties further.
As major developing nations and key players within the Global South, Xi emphasized that the strategic partnership between China and Indonesia holds broader importance and global impact.
President Xi stressed the value he places on advancing China-Indonesia ties and expressed his willingness to use this diplomatic milestone as a chance to strengthen comprehensive strategic cooperation. He called for deeper collaboration, increased strategic alignment in multilateral forums, and continued development of their shared future vision. Xi said their partnership could serve as a model for unity among developing nations and contribute meaningfully to global progress.
President Prabowo, in turn, extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Xi and the Chinese people on behalf of Indonesia. He praised the long-standing friendship and rapidly growing bilateral ties.
Prabowo noted that cooperation between Indonesia and China has flourished across five key areas—politics, economy, cultural exchange, maritime collaboration, and security. He expressed hope that the two nations would continue deepening their partnership and further strengthen people-to-people ties to contribute positively to global peace and stability.
