Xi extends congratulations to Global South Media and Think Tank Forum expressing willingness to cooperate and work with countries of the Global South.
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message on Monday to the Global South Media and Think Tank Forum. He noted the strong growth and increasing influence of the Global South, emphasizing its significant role in human progress. Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to the Global South and developing world, positioning China as a steadfast member of these nations.
Additionally, Xi expressed China’s willingness to collaborate with countries of the Global South to promote genuine multilateralism, advocate for a fair and orderly multipolar world, and encourage economic globalization that benefits all. Together, they aim to build a community with a shared future for humanity.
In light of global changes, Xi then highlighted that pursuing modernization and establishing a more just international order are vital missions for Global South countries. These shared challenges are key concerns for media and think tanks in the region, who must work together on these common issues.
Xi also urged forum participants to engage in thorough discussions, reach a consensus, and amplify the “voice” and “commitment” of the Global South. He further called on them to contribute ideas to empower the Global South, promoting peace, development, openness, constructive global governance, and the mutual exchange of cultural knowledge.
The Global South Media and Think Tank Forum, co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and Brazil Communication Company, began in Sao Paulo, Brazil, under the theme “Development and Revitalization: A New Journey for the Global South.”
Moreover, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva also sent a congratulatory message to the forum.
