A grand reception celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) was held on the evening of September 30 at the Great Hall of the People. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended and delivered a speech, highlighting the country’s remarkable economic growth and long-term social stability over the past 75 years. Xi emphasized that China’s national rejuvenation is on an irreversible course, and he acknowledged the significant contributions made by people of all ethnic groups under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Premier Li Qiang presided over the event, which was attended by approximately 3,000 guests from both domestic and international circles. The event celebrated the PRC’s founding and emphasized unity, cooperation, and future development.
Xi Jinping’s Speech
Xi delivered his speech amidst applause, recognizing the people, military, and non-CPC parties who contributed to China’s progress. He also extended his greetings to compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas, as well as to international friends who have supported China’s development.
The Chinese president emphasized the importance of advancing China’s modernization while upholding Party leadership, deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and ensuring that the country’s progress is in the hands of its people. He also highlighted the need for peaceful development and global cooperation, advocating for a multipolar world and inclusive globalization.
Xi stressed the importance of national unity, reiterating the policy of “One Country, Two Systems” for Hong Kong and Macao, and asserting that Taiwan is an integral part of China. He called for closer economic and cultural ties between the mainland and Taiwan while opposing separatist efforts.
On the global stage, Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to promoting peace, security, and cooperation through initiatives such as the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative. He emphasized building a shared future for humanity through mutual benefit and inclusiveness.
In his closing remarks, Xi acknowledged the achievements of Chinese modernization but cautioned that challenges lie ahead. He urged vigilance and preparedness to overcome obstacles, assuring that no difficulties would hinder the progress of the Chinese people.
As the event concluded, guests raised their glasses to celebrate the PRC’s 75th anniversary, wishing for the continued prosperity of China and the lasting friendship between China and other nations. Leading officials from various sectors and international dignitaries were also in attendance.
