China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized on Friday that the world must listen to Africa, address its concerns, and support its pursuit of self-reliant and sustainable development.
Speaking at a press conference during the annual session of the national legislature, Wang stressed that global modernization cannot be achieved without Africa’s modernization, as the continent’s stability and progress are crucial to humanity’s future.
Wang reaffirmed that China and Africa share a strong and enduring friendship, calling their relationship the best in history. He highlighted that China has established strategic partnerships with all African nations that maintain diplomatic ties with Beijing, elevating their cooperation to an ‘all-weather’ level.
Marking the 25th anniversary of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, Wang noted China’s contributions, including the construction or upgrade of nearly 100,000 kilometers of roads and over 10,000 kilometers of railways. In just the past three years, Chinese enterprises have created over 1.1 million new jobs across Africa.
China has also remained Africa’s largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years, Wang said, emphasizing that China-Africa cooperation delivers visible and tangible benefits to the African people.
