University of Sargodha, UoS, students shine at 2025 Chinese Bridge Competition held at Beijing that aimed to boost cultural ties.
In a proud development for Pakistan, students from the University of Sargodha (UoS) earned notable honors in the highly regarded “All Pakistan Chinese Bridge Competition 2025,” hosted by the Chinese Language and Education Center in Beijing. The competition went beyond language and performance, strengthening cultural diplomacy and deepening Pakistan-China relations.
The event was conducted virtually in two segments. The first segment involved a speech competition themed “One World, One Family,” while the second allowed participants to display their talent in traditional Chinese arts such as calligraphy, painting, music, and Tai Chi.
One of the top achievers was Ayesha Rafiqat from the Confucius Institute at UoS, who secured third place in both the speech and music categories. Her accomplishment highlights UoS’s commitment to combining academic excellence with cultural learning.
Other participants from UoS, including Lab and Jaweria Iqbal, also received prizes and certificates of appreciation, adding to the university’s recognition at both national and international levels. Additionally, UOS TV, the university’s digital media outlet, was awarded a cash prize for its outstanding coverage and promotion of the students’ success.
The Vice Chancellor of UoS praised the students’ achievements and stressed the value of cultural programs in shaping globally aware individuals. He stated that the university is dedicated to promoting academic and cultural exchanges that strengthen the Pakistan-China friendship.
The Confucius Institute Director at UoS echoed this message, noting that the students’ accomplishments reflect the institute’s mission to encourage intercultural dialogue. He lauded their creativity and commitment as a testament to building cross-cultural understanding through language and the arts.
