Truss Bridge at Dasu Hydropower Project inaugurated

General Manager Dasu Hydropower Project (DHPP) Anwarul Haq inaugurated a truss bridge over the Indus River on Friday that will speed up the transport of machinery and construction materials to the dam site.

The truss bridge is constructed at CR-9 on Indus River, which will help the “transportation of heavy machinery, workers and other material across the river”, according to an official statement. Chinese engineers and workers from China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) “warmly celebrated the successful commencement of the bridge”.

Mr. Haq vowed that the project will be completed well in time, which will increase green and low-cost hydel electricity in the country.

CGGC has been working on DHPP as the Main Works Contractor since 2017, which is one of the top green and low-cost energy projects in the country.

The Dasu Hydropower Project (DHPP) is a mega project of WAPDA which will generate 4320 MW cheap and environmentally friendly hydel energy for Pakistan.

At the moment, the construction is underway simultaneously on eight sites including diversion tunnels, underground powerhouse, flushing and traffic tunnel, relocation of Karakoram Highway (KKH), right bank access roads, 132 KV transmission line and WAPDA colony and offices.
