The air route connecting Tianjin, China, with Sapporo, Japan, will resume operations on December 20, according to local reports.
Tianjin Airlines will operate the route using an Airbus A320, offering round-trip flights three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The outbound flight departs Tianjin at 8 a.m. local time, arriving in Sapporo at 12:30 p.m. The return flight from Sapporo departs at 1:45 p.m. and arrives back in Tianjin at 5:20 p.m.
Tianjin Airlines also operates four other routes to Japan, connecting Tianjin with Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, as well as linking Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, with Osaka.
Since resuming flights to Japan in April 2023, Tianjin Airlines has provided a range of convenient travel options for business, tourism, and cultural exchange. The new Tianjin-Sapporo route enhances the flight network between Japan and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
In an effort to encourage tourism and business travel, China will offer visa-free entry to Japanese citizens with ordinary passports from November 30, 2024, to December 31, 2025. Following this announcement, interest in direct flights from Japan to China surged.
