Speaker Ayaz Sadiq reaffirms deep Pak-China partnership while speaking at an event commemorating the 74th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, on Wednesday commended China’s achievements in economic progress, technological advancement, and military modernization, affirming that Pakistan remains a dedicated ally in these areas.
He shared these remarks during a diplomatic reception commemorating 74 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. The event was attended by Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong along with other notable guests.
The Speaker underscored the strength of defence collaboration, pointing to the inclusion of Chinese military equipment like JF-17 Thunder and J-10C fighter aircraft, as well as the PL-15 missile system, as key indicators of the partnership’s strategic importance.
He also stressed that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would focus on advancing cooperation in agriculture, IT, mining, and climate resilience. Sadiq expressed hope that the Chinese Premier’s forthcoming visit would further strengthen institutional cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. He described the bilateral bond as a symbol of enduring brotherhood and mutual trust.
The Speaker also mourned the terrorist attack in Khuzdar, Balochistan, which claimed six lives, including four children, on the same day.
Ayaz Sadiq noted that such acts of terrorism only deepen the nation’s resolve and reinforce Pakistan’s strong ties with its allies. Citing President Xi Jinping’s 2015 address to Pakistan’s Parliament, he reiterated that Pakistan-China ties are “higher than mountains, deeper than oceans, and sweeter than honey.”
