Shenzhou-19 crew returns safely after 183 days in orbit as the mission was successfully completed.
All three astronauts from the Shenzhou-19 crew safely exited their return capsule on Wednesday afternoon, with the China Manned Space Agency officially declaring the mission a success.
At 12:17 p.m. Beijing time, a return command was transmitted from the Beijing Aerospace Control Center, leading to the separation of the spaceship’s orbital module from its return capsule.
The braking engine was then activated, enabling the return capsule to detach from the propulsion module and land at 1:08 p.m. at the Dongfeng landing site in Inner Mongolia, northern China.
By 2:02 p.m., the astronauts had fully exited the capsule after spending 183 days in space, and were reported to be in good health by the space agency.
