 Senator Shahzad vows to further deepen Pakistan-China friendship

Leader of the House in Senate, Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem during a meeting with Deputy Head of Mission China Ms Pang Chunxue said that Pakistan greatly values its relationship with China since this relationship has no transactional basis. Terming the recent visit of PM Imran Khan to China successful, both exchanged views on wide-ranging matters of mutual interest, geo-political situation, and the new avenues of cooperation and collaboration. Moreover, Senator Shahzad said that CPEC is a people centred initiative and a blueprint of common prosperity.

Leader of the House in Senate, Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem has said that Pakistan greatly treasures and values its all-weather cooperative friendship with China, and it’s time to further enhance our economic, trade an d developmental cooperation to realize full potential of Pak-China “Iron Brotherhood” for mutual benefit and to promote regional peace, stability and shared prosperity.

These views were expressed by him while speaking during a meeting with Deputy Head of Mission China Ms Pang Chunxue who called on him here on Tuesday.

The two sides discussed wide-ranging matters of mutual interest, geo-political situation, and the new avenues of cooperation and collaboration opened during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent successful visit to China and close interactions with top Chinese and CPC leadership, especially H.E. President Xe Jinping.

Senator Shahzad Waseem said, “I believe that Pakistan and China’s common vision of shared prosperity through developmental cooperation and interconnectivity is a vector for collective socio-economic progress, human development and inclusive progress in the region and beyond.”

“I also deem it pertinent to highlight that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a practical manifestation of our common vision of inclusive and shared development,” he added.

The Leader of House expressed confidence that Pak-China relations, which have withstood regional and global vicissitudes, will continue to flourish in the days ahead and move from generation to generation and strength to strength.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese Deputy Head of Mission congratulated Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem on successful visit by Prime Minister Imran Khan to China. She said the partnerships and developmental synergies augmented during the visit would go a long way towards further enriching Pak-China friendship.
