Punjab officials brief journalists on CM’s visit to China which is resulting in significant measures for the people of Punjab.
Secretary of Information and Culture Punjab, Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani, and DGPR Ghulam Saghir Shahid held a meeting with senior columnists. Tahir Raza Hamdani provided an update to the journalists regarding Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s visit to China.
He highlighted that Maryam Nawaz’s visit to China was historic, resulting in agreements aimed at improving the lives of the people of Punjab. Among the notable agreements, one focused on the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital. He assured that the benefits of these agreements would be evident in the coming days and mentioned a new initiative with China to address smog in Punjab. Additionally, the Chief Minister’s visit to Chinese companies is expected to promote artificial intelligence (AI) in Punjab’s schools, with initiatives expected to launch soon.
Moreover, DGPR Ghulam Saghir Shahid discussed the ongoing improvements in the fair distribution of advertisements to newspapers and timely payments to the media. He mentioned that pending payments from the previous government will be settled once the required documentation is completed. He also assured that advertisements are being distributed fairly to both large and small newspapers, with all pending payments expected to be cleared within two months.
The meeting included senior journalists such as Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, Irshad Ahmed Arif, Pervez Bashir, Wasif Nagi, Irfan Iffan, Mudassar Bashir, Sohail Qaiser, Ijaz Hafeez, Jamil Athar, and Najam Wali. The columnists praised the agreements made during the visit, especially those concerning the cancer hospital and solar panel initiatives, and offered suggestions for the Chief Minister’s future efforts.
