PTCL and China Mobile partner at GITEX 2024 to enhance connectivity and boost development and digital growth.
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s largest telecom and integrated ICT services provider, has entered into a partnership with China Mobile International Limited (CMI), a global telecom and ICT player, at GITEX Global 2024 for sharing global network resources.
As per a news release, this collaboration will enhance connectivity for both companies’ customers, both within Pakistan and globally.
The agreement was signed by Waqar Ahmed, Group Director of Enterprise Solutions at PTCL & Ufone 4G, and Alex Lee, Managing Director of China Mobile International Middle East, during GITEX 2024. The event was attended by investors, business leaders, and top management from both sides.
This partnership integrates PTCL’s extensive fiber network of over 65,000 kilometers across Pakistan with CMI’s global infrastructure of 305 Points of Presence (PoPs). Together, the two companies will offer seamless, high-quality connectivity solutions to both businesses and individual consumers.
Sayyed Muhammad Imran Ali, Group VP of B2B Strategy & Product Management at PTCL & Ufone 4G, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing that the partnership will enhance Pakistan’s digital landscape and provide unmatched service quality to both domestic and international customers.
Alex Lee, Managing Director of China Mobile International Middle East, also shared his enthusiasm, noting that this collaboration would significantly enhance the capabilities of both companies. He emphasized the potential for introducing innovative solutions to the market, driving digital progress and offering greater value to customers globally.
Lastly, the partnership, formed at GITEX 2024, is expected to accelerate digital growth in the region, contributing to mutual development within the industry. PTCL has forged several key collaborations at the event, aiming to further strengthen Pakistan’s telecom and digital ecosystem.
