Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the preparation of a comprehensive plan to expand Pakistan’s railway network, aiming to strengthen trade ties with Central Asian nations.
While presiding over a meeting on Pakistan Railways in Islamabad on Wednesday, the Prime Minister highlighted that a robust railway system is fundamental to a nation’s economy. He stressed the importance of sustainably reconstructing railway infrastructure to support economic and industrial growth.
He reiterated that modernizing the railway sector is a crucial part of the national agenda to boost regional trade and connectivity. He also ordered the acceleration of efforts to link Gwadar with the national railway network.
Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi updated the Prime Minister on the progress of ongoing reforms within Pakistan Railways.
