Pakistani textile firms shine at Shanghai exhibitions as they displayed their innovative fabrics and strengthening global market ties.

From March 11 to 13, Pakistani textile companies took part in two major textile exhibitions in Shanghai: the Yarn Expo Spring 2025 and Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics-Spring Edition 2025. These companies showcased their products and explored the latest trends in functional fabrics, aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global textile market.

One of the key participants was Kohinoor Mills, a well-known Pakistani textile manufacturer, which exhibited a variety of fabrics, including cotton-tencel, cotton-stretch, and cotton-poly stretch. Marketing Manager Nadeem Waqar emphasized the significance of the event in building connections with both new and existing clients. He highlighted the opportunity to gain insights into global market trends, particularly the preferences of Chinese consumers, and confirmed plans to return for the autumn edition later this year.

Mahmood Group of Industries, a Pakistani company engaged in multiple sectors such as cotton, yarn, fabrics, leather, poultry, and fast food, showcased its strong business ties with China. Marketing Manager Muhammad Akmal stated that Pakistan’s textile industry is recognized for its high-quality, cost-effective products that meet international standards. He credited long-term collaborations with China for driving growth and innovation in Pakistan’s textile sector.

Azgard Nine Ltd presented its latest denim collection, drawing significant interest from international buyers, particularly those from Europe. Deputy General Manager Sana Arshad expressed excitement over the positive reception, noting that the exhibition provided an excellent platform to introduce Pakistan’s fashion creativity to a global audience.

Additionally, a delegation of Pakistani buyers, led by Osama, the CEO of a family-owned trading company, explored advancements in functional fabrics at the expo. With extensive experience in importing Chinese textiles and machinery, Osama highlighted Pakistan’s growing interest in sustainable and innovative textile solutions. He noted that China’s expertise in functional fabrics could help Pakistan transition toward environmentally friendly and low-carbon textile manufacturing.

The exhibition featured over 3,100 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions, with international delegations from more than ten countries, including Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and France.
