The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan H.E Nong Rong called on Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training and National Heritage Shafqat Mahmood on Sep. 15. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on a range of bilateral issues of mutual interests based on education and skills development. Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood has stated that Pak-China has an iron bond and it is growing deeper with every passing day. “China is the first country to provide Covid-19 pandemic vaccines to Pakistan and also a role model for the world when it comes to the way it fought against the deadly virus and defeated this unseen enemy,” he added.
The Chinese ambassador said that for many decades China has always stood with Pakistan on national and international fora to support Pakistan on all the issues which speaks the significance of our mutual friendship. He further stated that one of the largest numbers of foreign students studying in China is from Pakistan. Likewise Pakistan is the country receiving the highest number of Chinese scholarships than any other country in the world.
The meeting of the two all-weather friends was marked with traditional warmth, mutual understanding and trust. The two sides have reiterated their resolve to further consolidate their relationships in education, skill development and culture.
Both sides also discussed the issue of Pakistani Students studying in China and agreed to keep communication and coordination on this.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary Federal Education Ms. Farah Hamid Khan, Executive director HEC Ms. Shaista Sohail and other higher authorities of the ministry.
