The 2025 International Wuhan Intelligent Building Industry Expo concluded on November 2 at the China Optics Valley Convention and Exhibition Center, featuring innovative construction technologies from 13 countries with applications for global markets. The three-day event, organized under the theme “Develop the Industrial Internet, Jointly Build ‘Quality Homes,’” hosted over 200 enterprises across seven specialized zones, covering construction products, design, materials, techniques, maintenance systems, urban development, and international cooperation.
Special Representative to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Zafar Uddin Mahmood, attended the International Cooperation and Development Conference on Intelligent Construction during the expo. He praised the advancements in technology, noting, “This exhibition demonstrates how human intelligence combined with artificial intelligence has transformed construction quality, speed, and aesthetics.”
Mr. Mahmood highlighted China’s contribution to Pakistan’s infrastructure, citing the PKM Motorway (Sukkur-Multan section), a 392-kilometer landmark project completed ahead of schedule by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau (CCTEB). He described it as “one of Pakistan’s finest infrastructure achievements,” emphasizing the transfer of technical expertise and employment opportunities for local workers.
Colonel (Retd) Zahid-R-Grewal, a Pakistani professional involved with the PKM project, noted that the AI-driven digital platforms and integrated technologies showcased at the expo could significantly improve efficiency, cost management, and innovation in future Pakistani infrastructure initiatives.
The expo also served as a global platform for knowledge exchange, highlighting how AI and smart construction technologies are transforming traditional methods. The integration of intelligent systems demonstrates new pathways for enhancing project quality and efficiency, with clear relevance for Pakistan’s ongoing and future development projects.
