Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan to work together for peace, PM Shehbaz Sharif stated while stressing on their shared commitment to unity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has shown readiness to engage in dialogue with India on all outstanding matters, including trade, as long as India displays genuine intent and cooperation.
Speaking at the second Trilateral Summit in Lachin, Azerbaijan, he emphasized Pakistan’s desire for regional peace and stressed that resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people is essential.
He noted that India had issued threats to block Pakistan’s water supply, but assured that adequate measures are being taken to deal with such challenges.
Sharif added that Pakistan is also open to discussions on counterterrorism, provided India approaches the matter with sincerity.
The Prime Minister praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, crediting him for guiding Pakistan’s armed forces with courage and exceptional professionalism.
During a separate ceremony celebrating Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, Shehbaz Sharif honored the Azerbaijani people’s struggle for independence and reaffirmed Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for Azerbaijan.
He highlighted the ongoing resistance of the people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, stating that despite decades of oppression, they continue to fight for their freedom.
Sharif reiterated that Kashmiris will not abandon their quest for liberty and self-determination, as outlined by UN resolutions.
He also called for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza to halt the humanitarian crisis.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister stated that the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan trilateral summit in Lachin has reinforced the shared commitment to unity.
He affirmed that the three countries will continue working together for regional peace, development, and mutual cooperation.
Shehbaz Sharif concluded by saying the summit has reaffirmed the deep brotherhood among Pakistan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan, declaring them “three nations, one heart.”
