Pakistan permanent delegate to UNESCO takes charge, as after the formal ceremony discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in education, culture, and science.
Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch officially assumed her role as Pakistan’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO by presenting her Letter of Credentials to Director-General Audrey Azoulay at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on Friday.
Following the credentialing ceremony, Ambassador Baloch and Director-General Azoulay held discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and UNESCO in education, culture, and science. She commended UNESCO’s efforts and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting its global initiatives, particularly in her role as Vice-Chair of UNESCO’s Executive Board.
Director-General Azoulay welcomed Ambassador Baloch, acknowledging Pakistan’s valuable contributions and continuous support for UNESCO’s objectives. Both sides emphasized the need for further collaboration in education, cultural heritage preservation, and scientific progress.
With 30 years of diplomatic experience, Ambassador Baloch has previously served in key positions in Washington, Beijing, Geneva, and Seoul, as well as holding the post of Pakistan’s Ambassador to South Korea.
