BEIJING, July 28 – Pakistan lauds China’s poverty poverty alleviation projects in a two week seminar conducted in China involving officials from various provinces in Pakistan.
A recent two-week seminar in China involved 19 officials, business leaders, and economic development experts from Islamabad, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab.
Hosted by the China Center for Urban Development of the National Development and Reform Commission, the seminar is part of China’s 2024 bilateral training programs.
The seminar, which concluded on July 24, included visits to Guizhou Province, where participants observed China’s efforts in poverty alleviation and rural revitalization firsthand.
The delegation explored the Miao ethnic group’s batik and embroidery techniques in Zhijin County, with a history exceeding 2,000 years. They visited local workshops and villages to understand the production, value, and market of these traditional crafts and their impact on local employment and income.
During the exchange session, participants shared details about their work and business, discussing advancements in poverty reduction, public service improvements, and sustainable development in their respective provinces.
They also explored opportunities for China-Pakistan collaboration on poverty alleviation within the “Belt and Road” framework. One participant expressed deep gratitude to China for sharing its successful poverty alleviation experiences and initiatives.
“Despite the significant challenges Pakistan faces in rural development and poverty alleviation, witnessing China’s successes in these areas has bolstered our confidence. We believe that by applying the insights gained from China, we can overcome these challenges,” one attendee remarked.
