Pakistan has reiterated its resolve to advance peace, justice, and inclusive growth while underscoring its support for Palestine and gender equality during a series of high-level engagements at the United Nations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar addressed multiple forums, including the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM), the UN General Assembly’s session on gender equality, and the High-Level International Conference on Palestine, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.
At the CFAMM, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to reinvigorating the Commonwealth as a platform for peace-building and cooperation. He emphasised climate action, digital transformation, and empowering youth through trade and innovation, stressing that the Commonwealth must remain relevant in addressing global crises.
Speaking at the UNGA session marking 30 years of the Beijing Declaration, Dar called for urgent action on women’s empowerment. Highlighting Pakistan’s milestones, he cited the country’s history of female leadership, specialised institutions addressing gender-based violence, and social protection programs that empower women economically. He urged the international community to scale up financing and accelerate implementation of the Beijing+30 agenda.
At the Palestine Conference, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s historic solidarity with the Palestinian people, welcoming the recognition of Palestine by several countries, including France, the UK, and Canada. He strongly condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire, humanitarian access, and concrete steps to implement the two-state solution with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the Palestinian capital.
Dar concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s readiness to work with international partners to strengthen multilateralism, promote climate resilience, protect human rights, and advance a just and peaceful global order.
