Pakistan firmly dismissed baseless allegations aimed at undermining its friendship with China, emphasizing that Beijing remains Islamabad’s all-weather strategic ally.
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson, reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the One-China Policy, describing it as a core pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy that has remained constant.
Addressing media queries, the spokesperson highlighted the enduring strength of Pakistan-China relations, characterizing China as Pakistan’s “all-weather strategic partner.” He noted that this bilateral relationship is founded on mutual trust, shared values, and unwavering support on matters of national significance.
The FO’s remarks follow reports by various media outlets suggesting that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended an event in the U.S. hosted by a group critical of the Chinese Communist Party during his recent visit.
The spokesperson underscored the enduring commitment of Pakistan and China to fostering regional and global stability.
Shafqat Ali Khan pointed out that both nations have consistently supported each other in challenging times, reflecting the depth of their strategic partnership.
Attempts to weaken this crucial relationship were dismissed by the FO, with assurances that Pakistan remains fully devoted to strengthening its multifaceted cooperation with China, including in economic, political, and defense sectors.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), is recognized by Pakistan as a game-changer for regional connectivity and economic progress.
The spokesperson also urged stakeholders to refrain from unnecessary speculation that could harm the enduring and time-tested Pakistan-China friendship, which continues to strengthen with each passing year.
