Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian civilian and military aircraft until July 24, according to a Notice to Airmen issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority.
Extension of Existing Flight Restrictions
The latest NOTAM replaces the previous restriction, which was set to expire on June 24. Moreover, it continues to bar all Indian-registered, operated, or leased aircraft from using Pakistani airspace.
Ongoing Regional Airspace Closure
Since late April 2025, both Pakistan and India have maintained mutual airspace restrictions following heightened tensions. As a result, airlines on both sides have faced operational disruptions.
Impact on Airline Operations
Meanwhile, Indian carriers have experienced increased flight durations and higher operational costs due to rerouted international flights. In particular, long-haul operations have been affected, placing additional pressure on airline finances.
Broader Aviation and Economic Effects
Furthermore, industry reports indicate financial strain on major airlines operating in the region amid geopolitical uncertainty. Consequently, the extended ban continues to influence regional aviation dynamics and commercial aviation planning.
