Pakistan embassy joins Chinese New Year festivities as it was decorated ahead of the Spring Festival.
The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing was adorned with lights and traditional lanterns as a gesture of solidarity with the people of China in anticipation of the Chinese New Year and Spring Festival, beginning on January 29.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, shared his festive greetings on social media, congratulating the Chinese people on the Year of the Snake. He remarked, “The Pakistan Embassy in China is glowing with festive spirit, illuminated for the Spring Festival. These lively decorations symbolize the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China. We honor the traditions that connect us and pave the way for a brighter shared future.”
The Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, which is set to start on January 29 this year, is the most significant holiday in the Chinese calendar and is traditionally a time for family reunions.
Consequently, spanning 15 days, the Chinese New Year marks the start of the Lunar calendar year. This year’s celebrations will kick off on January 29. The festival is rooted in the lunar calendar, which is based on the moon’s cycles, starting with the first new moon and concluding with the first full moon.
