Pakistan’s Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq against terrorist networks in Afghanistan will continue until reliable assurances are given that cross-border support for terrorism ends, security officials said. The operation follows a series of attacks along the border after Pakistan targeted terrorist camps in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces on February 22. Officials stressed that Pakistan has no issue with Afghanistan or its people.
Security officials described the Afghan Taliban regime as a “proxy master” facilitating multiple terrorist groups, posing a threat to regional peace. The operation targets hideouts and networks of Fitna al-Khawarij, associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, and Fitna al-Hindustan, linked to terrorist groups in Balochistan. Officials said the fight is part of Pakistan’s broader war against terrorism and will continue until practical measures are taken to stop support for terrorists.
Officials rejected claims of civilian targeting in Afghanistan and said more than 200 intelligence-based operations are conducted daily across Pakistan. They stressed national unity and full implementation of the National Action Plan as key to eliminating terrorism. Pakistan remains committed to constructive regional relations but is fully prepared to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
