In a significant step toward Pakistan’s digital transformation, Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan inaugurated the Specialized Digital Skills Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme and the “Practice of Skills” International Digital Education Platform at the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) headquarters on Monday.
The initiative, launched under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, aims to train over 200 master trainers and thousands of young Pakistanis in next-generation digital disciplines, creating a foundation for a technologically skilled and globally competitive workforce.
Transforming Pakistan’s Digital and Vocational Landscape
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Rana Mashhood described the programme as a transformative leap for Pakistan’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, designed to enable youth to thrive in the evolving global digital economy.
“This programme embodies our commitment to empower youth with 21st-century skills,” he said. “Its success depends on strong international partnerships, especially with China, which continues to stand beside Pakistan in promoting innovation and human capital development.”
Joint Pakistan–China Implementation Framework
The ToT programme and digital learning platform are being implemented collaboratively by NAVTTC, ITMC China, UNI Services International, and leading Chinese TVET institutions. The partnership stems from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China, where NAVTTC signed 13 landmark agreements with top Chinese educational and vocational organizations.
Rana Mashhood noted that these agreements mark a new era of Pakistan–China cooperation in skills development, digital education, and industrial training, core elements of the Digital Pakistan vision.
Empowering Youth Through Accessible, Certified Learning
The programme will provide internationally recognized certifications and free online learning opportunities, ensuring quality digital education reaches youth in all regions of Pakistan. It also aims to strengthen the link between academia and industry, expanding NAVTTC’s engagement across both public and private sectors.
Expressing appreciation for the support of ITMC China and UNI Services International, Rana Mashhood said their guiding principle “Service for the Youth, Service for the Future”captures the spirit of Pakistan’s youth empowerment agenda.
Building a Digital Future Through Partnership
“Our mission is to build an ecosystem where skills create opportunities and education drives empowerment,” he said. “Together with our Chinese partners, we are laying the foundation of a prosperous and digital future for Pakistan.”
Rana Mashhood reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring friendship with China, calling this collaboration a symbol of trust, progress, and shared prosperity under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.
