Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their resolve to deepen their time-tested partnership and launch a new strategic era of cooperation focused on trade, technology, and development.
During a meeting in Beijing, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, paid a courtesy call on Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC). The discussion centered on enhancing political exchanges, advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, and expanding collaboration in emerging sectors such as digital technology, green energy, and industrial development.
Ambassador Hashmi conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s leadership and reiterated Islamabad’s strong commitment to the all-weather strategic partnership. He highlighted initiatives to promote people-to-people linkages, youth exchanges, and think-tank cooperation, particularly as both countries prepare to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.
Minister Liu praised the deep-rooted friendship between China and Pakistan and expressed willingness to align CPEC 2.0 with Pakistan’s 5E Framework Exports, e-Pakistan, Environment, Energy & Infrastructure, and Equity & Empowerment to help realize the goals of the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative.
Both sides reaffirmed that the International Department of the Communist Party of China will continue to serve as a vital channel for strengthening mutual trust, fostering collaboration, and supporting shared goals under China’s forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
The meeting reflected the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China “iron brotherhood”, as both nations move toward a future defined by sustainable growth, regional connectivity, and mutual prosperity.
