Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Limited (CSAIL) have signed a grant agreement to rehabilitate a government primary school in Jhimpir, Thatta district of Sindh, under a corporate social responsibility initiative.
The 12-month project includes construction of new classrooms and sanitation facilities, development of a boundary wall, plantation of trees, installation of a reverse osmosis water filtration system, hiring of teachers, and community mobilisation to boost school enrollment.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, PPAF officials said the initiative reflects strong Pakistan-China cooperation in social development, noting that improved education infrastructure will help bring out-of-school children back into classrooms and strengthen long-term human capital growth in underserved areas.
