Beijing witnessed a striking display of culture and creativity as the Pakistan Embassy, in collaboration with the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), hosted the first-ever Pakistan-China Fashion Show at the iconic Badaling section of the Great Wall of China.
Renowned Pakistani designers, Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwaullah, and Zain Hashmi, showcased exclusive collections blending Pakistani elegance with Chinese aesthetics. China-based Pakistani designer Aqeel Chaudhary presented his jewelry line, while celebrated Chinese designer Liang Suyun also featured her creations. The event was curated by Adnan Ansari of Riwayat, drawing attendance from senior Chinese officials, diplomats, media representatives, and business leaders.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi highlighted the symbolic setting, calling the Great Wall a “modern bridge of fabric, art, and friendship” that embodies the Silk Road spirit. He noted the show’s special timing, marking 60 years since the first Pakistani dignitary’s visit to the Great Wall, and emphasized the growing commercial and creative synergy between Pakistani fashion and the Chinese market.
Mr. Long Yuxiang, Chairman of CICCC, described the event as a vivid expression of the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership in culture and people-to-people ties. He expressed his commitment to deepening collaboration in fashion aesthetics and exploring the modern essence of traditional art forms to infuse new vitality into Pakistan-China cultural relations.
The Badaling Great Wall, renowned for its historical grandeur, served as a fitting backdrop for this fusion of tradition and innovation, celebrating shared heritage, artistry, and a forward-looking partnership between the two nations.
