Pakistan and the World Bank have decided to strengthen their partnership to support reforms and climate action. The agreement came during a meeting in Islamabad between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and World Bank Country Director Bolormaa Amgaabazar.
The discussions focused on aligning development plans with Pakistan’s priorities, including human development, population management, climate resilience, agriculture improvement and energy sector sustainability.
Officials stressed the importance of coordination between federal and provincial governments to ensure effective implementation of reforms. Improving transparency, monitoring systems and project planning was also highlighted.
The World Bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic stabilization and long-term growth. Both sides agreed to continue technical-level discussions to advance reforms and deliver practical results.
