Ne Zha 2 becomes China’s top-grossing film setting a milestone in eight days and five hours.
The animated film Ne Zha 2 has set a new record, surpassing the 2021 war epic The Battle at Lake Changjin to become China’s highest-grossing movie of all time.
By 1:25 p.m. on Thursday, the film had earned over 5.77 billion yuan (approximately 804.84 million U.S. dollars), reaching this milestone in just eight days and five hours, as reported by ticketing platforms Maoyan and Beacon.
With box office projections estimating a final total between 9.4 and 9.5 billion yuan, Ne Zha 2 has solidified its position as the most successful film in China’s cinematic history.
