Myanmar’s SAC chairman expresses gratitude to Chinese teams for their assistance following 7.9 magnitude earthquake.
Myanmar’s State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman, Min Aung Hlaing, visited the Chinese rescue teams’ camp in Mandalay on Sunday to thank the members of the China Search and Rescue Team, China International Search and Rescue Team, and a team from Hong Kong for their efforts following the 7.9-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar.
On Sunday, Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of Myanmar’s State Administration Council, visited the camp of Chinese rescue teams in Mandalay to express gratitude to the China Search and Rescue Team, the China International Search and Rescue Team, and a Hong Kong-based rescue team for their dedicated efforts in responding to the 7.9-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar.
Min Aung Hlaing emphasized that the arrival of Chinese rescue teams to assist from a distant location demonstrated the strong “Paukphaw” (fraternal) bond shared between the two nations.
Min Aung Hlaing highlighted that the Chinese rescue teams’ timely arrival to assist from afar underscored the deep “Paukphaw” (fraternal) relationship between Myanmar and China.
The Chinese rescue teams bring significant expertise in cross-border search and rescue operations, and Myanmar aims to enhance communication and expand cooperation with China in areas such as emergency response, disaster prevention, and mitigation.
Chinese rescue teams have considerable experience in cross-border search and rescue missions, and Myanmar looks forward to strengthening dialogue with China to broaden cooperation in emergency response, disaster prevention, and mitigation strategies.
Chinese Consul General in Mandalay, Gao Ping, and Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung were present at the meeting. By April 6, Chinese rescue teams had successfully rescued nine survivors in Myanmar.
The meeting was also attended by Gao Ping, the Chinese Consul General in Mandalay, and U Myo Aung, the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region. As of April 6, the Chinese teams had managed to rescue nine survivors in Myanmar.
